All I Really Want

Picture it: Barnesville, Georgia, 2009. A young woman is driving down the highway when she hears a song on the radio. She is instantly moved to tears and spends the next four and a half minutes sobbing and then laughing at herself for being such a girl. The woman's name was Jenny Hicks and the song: All I Really Want for Christmas. (Okay, so you may only appreciate that if you love The Golden Girls as much as I do. Think Sophia Petrillo)! God has given me a burden for children without families. I believe that adoption is the answer for many families who want children but are having difficulties with having their own as well as for those who simply have the desire and ability to give a child in need the life that they deserve. Because of my strong feelings about adoption and the fact that I have a very dear friend who is a foster parent, I loved this song. It's apparently an older song, but this is the first year that I have heard it (or at least the first year that I paid attention).

That evening, I came home and told Brad about it. We watched the video together and I simply had to share. Wow...
