Goodbye 2010!

A couple days ago I was watching Rudolph's Shiny New Year, and I had a realization. If you don't remember the movie, it basically personifies a year through the use of a human. Each 'year' starts as a baby and then when it grows up (at the end of said year), it moves to an island in "The Archipelago of Last Years". There, everything remains just as it was during the year of his reign. Just. as. it. was.

Wow, thank God that's not our situation...things pass! Time passes! We move on! 2010 has been both a wonderful and terrible year. I'm so thankful that I do not have to live through 2010 for the rest of my life. I've heard Bro. Benny (my amazing pastor...if you've not been to Rock Springs yet, come visit!) say numerous times as he reads scripture that says "It came to pass" that we should praise God that things don't come to stay, they come to pass. Tough times, difficult situations, financial troubles, physical ailments...they all come to pass!

I'm so thankful for this year. I'm thankful for the friendships, the opportunities, the changes, the preparation for my new nephew, the spiritual growth...the list goes on. But I'm also thankful for what Saturday represents: a new year and the symbol of a fresh start. Thank you, Lord, that the old has passed away and that we can look forward to the future that You have planned for us!
