It's been a busy couple of weeks! It started last Thursday when Brad's parents came into town. They're always so much fun and are really easygoing. As with my family, I wish they lived closer so that we could spend more quality time together, but we'll take whatever we can get :-) They stayed for the weekend, but I left Friday afternoon to drive to Jacksonville to meet my mom and sister. After spending an evening with my great aunt (who is just about the most precious woman in the world), we went to Jaxport to meet up with my cousin Melanie and board a cruise (courtesy of my amazing mom) to the Bahamas!
The cruise was absolutely fabulous: it was wonderful to spend some time with my family and not have to rush off to do anything or be anywhere. I could say so much about the cruise: the water, the sun, the company, the towel forms (is that a pig??), the activities (snorkeling was beautiful), the music, the entertainment, the infirmary (leave it to me to have to go to the doctor on a ship), the other vacationers ("That's NOT a blackout bingo. Ladies and Gentlemen, he has a straight line!"), the tour (with the guide and his silent preschooler), and of course, the beauty of the beach. It was all amazing and I hope that someday we will be able to take another trip with the Huelsbeck/Carson girls!
A few hours after I returned from Jacksonville, Bert and Felicia came up to visit us with their precious daughters, Abby and Ali. It's always wonderful to have people come see us, as when we're at home we have so many people to visit in such a short time that we rarely get to really hang out with anyone. We packed a lot of fun into a couple of days: the aquarium (golf for the boys) and a wildlife refuge not to mention a ton of playing with the girls. They're such beautiful children and we always tend to get baby fever when we are around them! This would be okay, except the doctor has told us that he thinks I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, which will make conceiving difficult/impossible. But, we are trusting God and His plan for our lives. Maybe we will have our own children someday and maybe not, but worrying about it certainly won't change a thing! For now we will just enjoy playing with everyone else's babies!
Brad's off for the next few days, so we are looking forward to hanging out and finishing a few projects. He's heading out to Texas on Wednesday to visit his former coworkers and I'll be having guard practice and planning for my class next year--sounds like it will continue to be a busy summer!

That is what they think I have and I got pregnant ON birth control so you never know. I will be praying for you. :)
ReplyDeleteNow I'm kind of scared to actually "try" one day....if that makes any sense.
