Whoa Donkey!

Fall break. I don't know who came up with it: but he/she is brilliant! This year, I decided to go home to Pensacola for the first portion of the break. I stayed with mom and spent time with Papa and T, Carla, and the Huynh family. I went to the beach (LOVED IT) and had a morning of pampering (highlights and a pedicure). It was a truly fantastic time!

A few friends and I had to run some errands this afternoon. While out, we stopped at the Fayette County band rehearsal. I didn't want to go in: I don't know much, but I know that when you've been travelling all day and have not applied makeup or changed clothes or even looked in a mirror, meeting new people associated with your profession is not a fabulous idea. But, Keith (our friend and percussion instructor whose primary position is with Fayette) coerced me into going in. I learned that instincts are purposeful. I knew that I would feel a lack of confidence, and I was right! We did not stay at the rehearsal long. I decided that if/when I meet the staff of Fayette, a shower should probably be not long prior!

I had a blast back to the bahamas today because my friends discovered Whoa Donkey, the song that mom, Katie, Melanie, and I danced to while on our cruise. It is hilarious: it even has a braying donkey (that's right, Chad, a braying donkey) in the song. You should've heard them singing it and making the donkey noises: oh, to have recorded it!

Tomorrow will be a visual rehearsal and then the bandroom office clean-up. The office is...well...let's say 'organizationally challenged'. We bought lots of great tools today and I'll have my trusty labelmaker, so it should be a fruitful venture!

Saturday, my sweet honey and I will be going to Thomasville for a wedding (congratulations to my 'big brother', Curtis)! Home on Sunday and Monday is the Cobb County exhibition--just like that, fall break is almost over! But, I truly cannot complain: it's been fantastic!
