Another thought...isn't it funny that eating 'crap' will make you not be able to? haha :-)

Okay, so this may be gross...
First, let me throw out a little disclaimer because this may be a little gross, but I'm a special ed teacher: these things just don't bother me! I was just watching a little TV and realized just how many commercials there are for products that help "regulate digestive health". Shouldn't this tell us something about our diets as a society? Our bodies are designed to work properly if we use them properly. Now, I know that some people have digestive issues and that's a totally different story, but there cannot be that many people with serious digestive problems that should need help, such that there are three commercials in one 30-minute show! What are we doing to our bodies?! It's almost scary to think about because, although I am NOT one of the medical people in my family, I can just imagine that not being able to 'go' is probably not the only issue that people cause as a result of poor food choices. In fact, it may be your body's way of telling you "Hey, why don't you make some changes?", but they just fix the symptom rather than the root cause (I could step on my soapbox about the trend to just mask/fix symptoms instead of diagnosing and healing, but I'll save that one for another time). I have no clue where this came from because, if you know me well at all, you know I don't have that problem. I guess it just woke me up to what we are doing to ourselves. Extra inches around the waist may not be the only thing that running through the drive through does to us...just a thought!

Oh now this one is a gem!! This is PRICELESS, JENNY!!! Just priceless. I guess being without electricity and stuck with a few extra people in the house all frozen in gave you time to think about the more important things that most people just don't think about....crap and being regular. It is a very sensitive and important issue. While I was sick I thought about what I was putting in my body. Although I'm picking at you a little bit I'm serious, too. You are right. Now about people who know you know you don't have "that" problem. Which problem? Talking about these things or being "regular"? Which one? Or is it both? ROFLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love you, girl....
ReplyDeleteAnd another thing: I am so glad I'm not the only person who writes a disclaimer before a blog!!!!! :)
