Pensacola or Bust? It's a bust, alright.

So, mom had surgery this week and I wanted to come down and see her. That, paired with a wedding shower that I really wanted to attend, made my decision to drive to Pensacola this weekend an easy one. The only drawback? Our football team's scrimmage game was Friday night. But, I had confidence that it would be a shortened version of a game and I'd be well on my way by 10:00 or so. I stayed up way too late on Thursday night and got up early to prepare for a new student Friday morning, so I was ridiculously tired. Then, I didn't leave the school after the scrimmage game until about 11:00 and knew that I was so sleepy I'd never make it. After much wavering, I decided that I could go home and get a few hours of rest and then get up about 4:30 and drive down with enough time to shower and get ready for the bridal shower. Apparently, when I changed the time on my alarm clock, I forgot to change the days (from Mon-Fri to Weekends). Therefore, the clock didn't go off (which reminds me, I'd better adjust it before Monday or I'll be awakened at 4:30: yikes)! So, my 5:00 departure turned into a 7:00 departure. The drive was wonderful until I got just past Century...

It was at this time that my car, the Rock 'n Rolla, started to get sick. Long story short: transmission problems. I'm still unsure as to the severity because Saturday afternoon is not a great time to be looking for a mechanic. Then, I got a strange phone call from my credit card company and they don't show the payment that we made online last week. The lady didn't seem too worried about it: said sometimes it takes a while to post online payments. But, how can we not be worried about it when it means a difference of 25.9% APR? Brad and I were both in the computer room when I made the payment, so I have a witness, but I didn't write down the confirmation number (because it's never been a problem--lesson learned).

At this point, words cannot express how much I just want to be at home in my husband's arms. He makes everything better; takes away my stress. I miss him and cannot wait to go back home and see him tomorrow...but who knows how I'll get there!

On a happier note, mom is doing great and the shower was beautiful! It was great, as always, to see Carla!
